(This is the transcript from our new video so it may not read as well as a normal blog post would)
Hey, my name is David, and today I’m gonna show you how you can set up backlink alerts. Now, if you work in digital PR, you’re probably well used to receiving Google Alerts. So obviously, Google Alerts are alerts that you can set up on a Google searches. So, whenever your client or your company’s brand name is mentioned online, you’ll get a ping across into your inbox. You can actually do the same on backlinks using Ahrefs, and you can let it ping you when you’ve lost a link or when you’ve gained a link, which can be really useful to know ’cause obviously it’s the link that is important when it comes to SEO and distribution. So how you do that? So once you open up Ahrefs, if you go to the more tab and you go to alerts and here you can click new alert and just really simply pop in the domain, or for your client or your company, obviously then click domain. Then you can choose the scope of your alert. So whether you want to be notified of all new backlinks or lost backlinks when they happen, or all backlinks in total. Then you can set how often you want to be notified. So at a weekly or monthly basis. I put in weekly. And then go add, and there you’ve got it. You’ve set up a backlink alert.
