I want you to picture a scenario. You spend hours and hours writing good quality content. But what do you do with it? Where do you submit it to? Article marketing sites, blog spinning sites, I mean they’re good and you’ll get a link out of it, but where you’ll get real link value is with guest blogging. I’m James and I’m a copywriter here at Koozai, and today I’m going to talk to you about the benefits of guest blogging.

What is guest blogging? Well, this is where a website owner will publish content on their website that’s been written by somebody else. Now the author of this content will be credited in what’s known as an author bio at
the bottom of the piece. Contained inside that author bio is a link pointing toward the website that you’re looking to optimise.

So how is that different to article marketing? Well, it’s all about the quality of the link and the quality of the website that you’re going to be writing for. That’s one of the main benefits. So some other benefits:

Visibility, above anything else your content will get seen. It will get read and it will get looked at. So you no longer have to feel disheartened about writing content for article sites or blog spinning sites that’s not going to get read other than by search engines.

The second benefit is social. Your content, if it’s good and it’s quality, it will get shared. Now we all know that social button, such as tweets, likes, plus ones are now a huge ranking factors in SEO. With guest blogging opportunities, your content will be more likely to get shared than if it’s not found on article sites or blog spinning sites.

Relevancy and quality of websites, as I alluded to earlier, with guest blogging you’re going to be writing for websites that are of relevancy and are quality within your industry. The authority of the link, this is a huge benefit when it comes to guest blogging because with blog spinning sites and article marketing sites contained within those sites are a lot of outbound links. With guest blogging, it’s highly likely that the only link on the page will be the one pointed toward the site that you’re looking to optimise. So if you’ve written good quality content that’s shared and it’s built up its own authority, this will be absolutely brilliant when it comes to the authority of the link because all of that authority will be passed to the website that you’re looking to optimise.

And finally page rank. When it comes to guest blogging, you will be writing for websites that have a higher page rink than those links found on article marketing sites or blog spinning sites.

But it’s not just about SEO benefits when it comes to guest blogging. Your own branding, PR, and marketing efforts will also benefit too, because if you think about it, the amount of exposure that you’re going to get is unrivalled, and it’s also worth building up your own authority within the industry, which for a small business, if you’re trying to compete with larger businesses, is unrivalled.

Now where do you get your guest blogging opportunities from? The Internet is your oyster. So at the end of the day, you can just search and search and search for them. But some good sites that we use are Guest Blog It, My Blog Guest, and CopyBlogger. But above anything else, what we do here at Koozai is we go and source our own. So if there’s a client that we’re going to write for, we find out within that industry or within the industries that they want to expose themselves, we will go and find publications, websites, resources, anywhere that we can go write a guest post for them.

Now some of these sites will have “write for us” sections, which is absolutely perfect. But if not, this presents us with an opportunity to take the initiative and go and find websites that don’t usually offer this scenario. And that’s brilliant because then that gives us a unique link that not everyone will have because not everyone else will have written for that website.

So we’ve gone through some of the benefits, and we’ve gone through some of the where you can find guest blogging opportunities. But I want to leave you with a final note, and it’s a story from a conference that I went to last year. This is where I learned the true value and the true essence of guest blogging and why it means so much. I was talking to a guy, and I presented him with the scenario that I presented you with at the start of the video. I said, “Picture this scenario. You’ve written really good quality content, and it’s taken you hours to write. But where do you submit it to?” He said, “No, you’re missing the trick. If you build it, they won’t always come.” So take your content to where it’s going to get seen, and the benefits will be simply unrivalled and that’s for those reasons mentioned earlier.
