Prevent the loss of website traffic, and steadily grow organic visibility through the website migration process.
The Challenge
As specialist interior designers and architects, PENSON’s new website (penson.co) is awash with design and creative brilliance. This can sometimes ring alarm bells for SEOs, however, through a successful partnership with PENSON’s creative and development agency, Koozai were able to optimise the website. This resulted in a perfect balance between design and functionality, meaning that various style elements and imagery did not hamper site speed performance.
Furthermore, PENSON’s previous keyword landscape was limited to multiple long-tail keywords with low search volumes, and content articles matching these queries were consolidated as part of the migration process. This posed a challenge to not only retain ranking visibility but enable it to grow.

Koozai managed the migration in a way that enabled PENSON’s internal teams to fully meet pre-migration requirements, aligning site structure, page layout and technical road blocks.
Through comprehensive redirect mapping, deployment and testing we were then able to retain all organic traffic and ranking visibility upon launch, and grow this significantly thereafter.
What Happened Next
PENSON achieved consistent month-on-month (MoM) growth in organic sessions, new users and session duration, all of which led to fantastic results when comparing pre versus post migration.
Success!
Three months after migration, PENSON achieved an 80% growth in organic sessions, 103% increase in new users and a 51% improvement in session duration on-site.
Breaking this down further, each month that followed, migration returned an average 30% MoM increase in organic sessions and 33% increase in new users. All of which suggests there are plenty more positive results on the horizon.
These results are also a testament to Koozai’s guidelines that suggest organic traffic may not reach your required levels until at least three to six months in any migration project.
