Yahoo! has predicted that advertising on the mobile internet is set to see significant growth in the future.
In a speech at the Reuters Global Media Summit, executive vice-president of Yahoo! North America Hilary Schneider described the sector as having the potential for "exponential" growth.
She explained that providers of professional SEO services may start to see that more advertising and focus is placed on mobile advertising.
Ms Schneider estimated that this change could take place over the next few years when "material dollars begin to migrate", although she noted that the number of different formats, networks and standards that the devices come in could be a problem.
"If you just look at the growth rates on mobile, they’re incredible, they’re extraordinary, but you have to just remember that they’re starting with a small base," she said.
Last week, it was reported that Google will attempt to tap in to the UK property market with a new tool, which may launch in early 2010.
