Yahoo!'s organic search results are to begin to be powered by Bing from this week, it has been announced.

Yahoo! Organic Search Transition To Begin This Week According to the Yahoo! Search Marketing Blog, the back-end technology required for this task is currently making the necessary transition so the change can take place as part of the Microsoft Search Alliance agreement.

"This is an important step toward our goal of improving the overall relevance of Yahoo! organic search results and attracting a larger audience to Yahoo! Search," users of SEO services were advised.

It was added that the testing of paid search account transitions is already underway on a limited number of selected accounts.

The full switch is intended to take place by the end of the year, but may be delayed if it looks likely to coincide with the commercially-important holiday season.

Last month, the blog advised companies to compare how well their keywords perform on Yahoo! and Bing respectively and then make the relevant alterations to ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming changes.
