Companies running SEO campaigns have been advised to get their websites tested out by people who match up to their target audience.
This is according to Search Engine Land commentator Sandi Thurow, who said it is important to find out whether normal internet users view a site and its links as "clickable" and engaging.
She told users of SEO services carrying out such proactive research will pay dividends in the long run.
"You will find that your site is more search engine friendly," Ms Thurow stated. "You will also find that your brand is perceived as more reliable, dependable and trustworthy."
She added this will give an online business a better chance of meeting its sales targets.
In another recent Search Engine Land article, columnist Stephanie Hobbs explained SEO campaigns can be highly useful in promoting the goods and services of local businesses to web users based in their area.
