Bing has introduced a number of updates to its Maps application, including enhancements to the Local Search option.

Updates Made To Bing Maps Application Writing for the Bing Community, Chris Pendleton explains that the search engine has improved the usability of the function by adding a "nearby" option.

He claims that this will enable users to make speedy decisions as it will be much quicker for them to get details regarding things such as restaurants, the cuisine they serve and the payment types on offer.

"You can also see suggested nearby places to expand your search without having to make unnecessary, additional queries. We’re broadening your horizons people," Mr Pendleton states.

Additionally, filters on the category results page have been updated so that searches are defined by things such as price and atmosphere, which the brand also hopes will lead to more informed decisions being made.

In other news from Bing, Mr Pendleton recently explained that the brand has introduced a new mapping feature that pinpoints locations mentioned in articles that people are browsing.
