Twitter has launched a new Directory tab designed to help users find new accounts to follow.
The Directory portal shows a list of suggestions of companies and individuals that account holders may be interested in keeping up with, reports Search Engine Land columnist Matt McGee.
It also allows users to browse through different categories, as well as tracking down their friends and contacts via email or LinkedIn accounts.
There is also an option to view similar accounts to the ten most recently signed up to by those who have joined the social networking site.
"Twitter has made several attempts over the years to help users find new accounts worth following – this version seems to be the most comprehensive and effective to date," said Mr McGee.
Search Engine Land also recently reported Twitter Places is considering the introduction of an option to allow local businesses to claim their location on its maps.
