SEO ‘Creates Digital Shelf Space’

SEO techniques need to be viewed as a way of creating "digital shelf space" for a company and their products.

SEO 'Creates Digital Shelf Space' This is the suggestion of Search Engine Watch columnist Eli Goodman, who stated that users of professional SEO services will soon find the value of getting more results in higher positions in search engine ranking pages is apparent.

He stated that the more organic and paid slots a company has in search engine results, the more their potential audience will be aware of their brand.

"Imagine if your product covered 80 per cent of the shelf space in a supermarket – as opposed to only 30 per cent – how much more you would sell," Mr Goodman explained.

Earlier this month, Simon Heseltine, another Search Engine Watch commentator, suggested that people running SEO campaigns need to be prepared to try out new strategies due to the constantly-changing nature of the search engine algorithms which determine ranking positions.
