Independent financial advisers (IFAs) who want to progress their business need to establish an effective online presence.
This is the view of My Smarter Website founder Andrew Webley, who told Money Marketing the use of pay per click and SEO services, along with email marketing campaigns, can help such companies to gain a larger audience on the internet.
He explained the techniques will be particularly good for bringing in business from new customers who are unaware of a specific IFA until they go online to search for one.
Mr Webley said link building will be important to a successful SEO strategy, while pay per click work can bring in a substantial amount of new business.
"If you know that users once on your site are contacting you and you are converting that into business, then this [pay per click advertising] can be very cost effective," he stated.
Earlier this month, IFA Life founder Philip Calvert explained an increasing number of consumers have been searching for financial planning advice on the internet.
