A new study has shown how important the internet and mobile phones are in people’s lives, due to the benefits they provide people with.

Report 'Shows Reliance of the Public on the Internet' Julie Owens, broadband and mobiles spokesperson at moneysupermaket.com, explained that the way technology has developed online and on mobile handsets means that people rely on them more.

In news that may be of interest to a UK SEO company, the average adult in the country spends 68 hours online each month, which is equivalent to nearly three days, according to research by the comparison site.

Ms Owens stated that this level of usage is down to the functionality of the internet.

She said: "It is clear from this research that without these essential items, people would find it hard to contact friends and family and would worry about missing out on things."

Recently, senior programmes manager at IAB told Net Imperative that companies should focus on making online tools simpler to ensure continued growth on the web.
