Including keywords in press releases and making them more SEO friendly could be a wise move for firms looking to boost their online marketing efforts.

Press Releases 'Should Be Given an SEO Makeover' In an advice piece for Search Engine Watch, Lisa Buyer explains there are a number of ways to capitalise on social PR opportunities.

"Like in website writing, press releases and all social media content should be optimised with keywords and links," she says.

SEO services may be required, as Ms Buyer suggests doing plenty of keyword research to discover what types of phrases work best.

She also says it is important to interact with consumers via social networks, engaging with conversations on sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

The comments follow a piece from news.com.au, which said it is necessary to make the most of social media, but not to neglect other forms of advertising, adding it can take a long time to build up a good internet presence.
