A Google pay per click campaign aiming to drive visitors to Visit Savannah's wedding pages has been a success.
The Savannah Morning News spoke to Melissa Yao, vice president of communications for the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce and Visit Savannah, who explained various marketing efforts have been underway to make tourists aware of the area's offerings.
One of the most successful may have been the use of pay per click services from Google, as the publication says this has "increased traffic to the group's destination wedding pages by 300 per cent in recent weeks".
Ms Yao has some tips for those considering niche marketing, as she says many companies tend to spend too much money aiming their services at an audience that is too broad.
Instead, meeting a unique need for a specific market is likely to prove more successful, as is being aware of competitors and testing the market before making a move.
Teaming PPC efforts with SEO could also be a wise move, as Search Engine Watch recently suggested the two work well together.
