Companies can successfully combine pay per click advertising with SEO campaigns, it has been stated.
According to Search Engine Journal commentator Ann Donnelly, users of pay per click management services can believe that SEO services are separate from their own online goals.
However, this is not always the case, with new websites able to make especially good use of combining the two disciplines over time, it was suggested.
"You can get quicker results with pay per click so you may want to use it when launching a brand new site," Ms Donnelly said.
She added that "link popularity is a big factor in SEO" but it may take some time to get hold of the quality links to a site that are necessary.
Earlier this week, Search Engine Watch columnist Eli Goodman explained that SEO campaigns can help improve brand awareness by pushing companies up search engine results pages.

When you say “can” work together, you mean “should” work together right?

I was under the impression that PPC and SEO were at war, this is what keeps both markets alive, is it not.
Interesting concept, great reading.
