One expert has advised businesses that they need to pay attention to all areas of their website if they want to successfully market their services.
Writing for Search Engine Watch, Herndon Hasty explained that many firms do not feel as if they are getting their money’s worth from their domain.
This is because they only concentrate on the "big, common pieces of the site" rather than utilising professional SEO services and optimising the smaller elements.
If they did this, Mr Hasty pointed out that they could have more search value.
"These are elements that make up your website that took just as much time and money to develop – your digital assets," he added.
Conducted by the Advertising Association and Warc, a new study recently revealed that despite the global recession, online marketing businesses performed better than any other advertising sector enterprises in 2009.
Internet-based services experienced a 3.7 per cent increase in turnover while the rest of the industry saw declines, the report showed.
