An industry insider has claimed that video advertising online is becoming more and more popular and still has plenty of potential for more take-up.
James Estrin, managing director of Web TV Enterprises, made his comments following a statement by eMarketer senior analyst David Hallerman, in which he suggested that an increasing number of firms will soon embrace video advertising.
Mr Estrin pointed out that there are still some major players who have not been involved in this area of marketing, such as the dominant television advertising agencies.
He noted that despite coming through a tough economic climate, the sector is seeing "huge growth" – news that may be of interest to those considering their pay per click management options.
"Technology and even entertainment advertisers have been early adopters and we’re starting to see new categories investing, especially fast moving consumer goods companies," added Mr Estrin.
In his view, video on demand services are also beginning to experience much more interest.
