New features have been released for Intelligence Reports from Google Analytics.

New Features Added to Google Analytics Intelligence Reports The first is the Major Contributions for Custom Alerts tool, which lets users of SEO services know when there has been a significant change in the number of hits on their website and what might be causing this.

"When you have a custom alert set up to capture important changes in your account, you can now see a breakdown of the individual segments that are the most likely instigators of the change in traffic," explained Beth Liebert, a member of the Google Analytics team.

The search engine has also introduced the option for users to receive SMS and email alerts, which are passed on when a custom alert is triggered.

Last month, Google also launched In-Page Analytics, a service that superimposes report data on top of a website as the user browses.

The aim of the application is to give a better idea of how visitors navigate their way through a website.
