Mobile Web Marketing ‘Set to Increase’

The popularity of mobile web marketing may increase in 2010, with the influence of Google set to be a major factor, according to an industry expert.

Mobile Web Marketing 'Set to Increase' Chief executive officer of WPP Group Sir Martin Sorrell described how there is a lot of potential in the sector, a situation that should be monitored by those offering professional SEO services.

He explained that smartphones such as the iPhone and Android systems are currently the drivers for this growth, but Google may "push" the development of the industry.

It has been reported that Google is developing its own phone called the Nexus One, which PC World has predicted could be thinner than the iPhone and have a super high-resolution OLED touchscreen.

"Mobile advertising obviously has a lot of potential and power. There’s a lot of debate about whether it will take off – we think it will," said Sir Martin.

He claimed that in emerging markets such as India and China, it is likely that ownership of mobiles will grow at a much faster rate than PCs.
