Mobile Marketing Use ‘Accelerating’

The use of mobile marketing techniques is picking up due to its ability to add relevancy, according to one industry source.

Mobile Marketing Use 'Accelerating' Matt McNeill, founder of Sign-Up.to, explained that adverts can be made more interesting if marketers can incorporate information about where a consumer is or what they are doing.

He claimed that there is a "very strong synergy" with online marketing techniques such as professional SEO services and the two promotional strategies are becoming increasingly more similar.

Mr McNeill remarked: "We’ve definitely seen the market accelerate over the last 12 months as people have begun to realise the opportunities that mobile marketing can offer."

In his view, the emergence of smartphones is also helping the sector in offering a new way for people to interact away from their conventional computer.

The Internet Advertising Bureau recently carried out a study on 875 mobile internet users and found that utilising mobile content alongside online marketing activity increased recognition of brands by 43 per cent.
