Many businesses could benefit from introducing a localised version of their website, it has been claimed.
Discussing the matter on the Google Webmaster Central blog, John Mueller explained that if firms go to the effort of creating and maintaining pages such as these, SEO services should be used to ensure they are recognisable.
This is because many users think it is more important to have information available to them in their own language than at a low price.
Mr Mueller added that "properly localised sites definitely have an advantage with users", especially those in a non-English-speaking country.
He also explained that because Google attempts to provide the best possible search results for browsers, it will often display localised results, both for the user’s location and language.
Meanwhile, chief executive officer and founder of Blue Fountain Media Gabriel Shaoolian recently advised enterprises that it is important for them to promote themselves properly on the internet, as people are likely to research an organisation before they associate themselves with it.
