Local businesses should ask customers to review products and services online in order to improve their success.

Local Firms 'Should Seek Online Reviews' That is the advice of a contributor from Search Engine Watch, who notes: "One of the most cost-effective strategies for instilling consumer confidence in your local business is encouraging online reviews and ratings."

Even if they are not favourable, it will still add credibility to the firm's website and it is a good idea to respond quickly to any comments, Jon Schepke notes.

Users of SEO services might also be pleased to hear this should improve search engine ranking and allow potential customers to differentiate between an array of local businesses.

Any negative feedback should be seen as an opportunity to learn how to improve the company and its services, Mr Schepke adds.
