Many businesses are heading online to promote their services at a local level, it has been suggested.

Local Businesses 'Promoting Services Online' Writing for Search Engine Land, Larry Small said firms are taking advantage of professional SEO services as well as digital and mobile media outlets to promote themselves.

He reminded enterprises that they have to ensure their advertisements contain adequate and relevant information, while running a multi-platform campaign, because it is not enough for them simply to look good.

"Local businesses risk missing out on potential leads they’ve worked so hard to attain if their ads don’t include basic background information on the operation and its offerings," Mr Small advised.

To combat this problem, he recommended businesses work hard to introduce info-rich adverts into their marketing strategies.

Magnus Nilsson recently wrote for Econsultancy that retargeting and building up a cookie pool is a good way for companies to reach more consumers using their advertising campaigns.
