Link Building Efforts ‘Should Not Be Subject to Kneejerk Changes’

Websites which are trying to incorporate links as part of their SEO efforts should not change their strategy in this area too regularly.

Link Building Efforts 'Should Not Be Subject to Kneejerk Changes' This is the advice of Search Engine Land commentator Julie Joyce, who said it is important not to take a "kneejerk" approach to link building and make drastic changes to tactics in an effort to get improved results.

She said that while such changes may have short-term benefits, they may not work in the long run.

Ms Joyce added link building campaigns should be flexible, but should also maintain a level of consistency in their approach.

"In the end, it's probably best to do your utmost to keep your links looking as organic as you possibly can," she advised.

Earlier this month, her fellow Search Engine Land commentator Eric Enge noted there are a number of effective tactics for building links, such as creating special offers and writing guest blogs for other websites.
