Social media and search engine optimisation (SEO) work very well together, one industry expert has noted.
In an article on web resource Search Engine Land, Duane Forrester explained that the two solutions can be used in tandem to play off one another’s strengths.
He stated: "Social builds links. SEO needs links. Simple. There is a lot more to this conversation point, but that’s the meat of it right here."
Mr Forrester said that one simple but effective way of ensuring that social media and SEO work together well is by ensuring that those running the former are aware of the latter’s needs.
He concluded by advising that social media posting efforts should be supported by the SEO team in terms of exposing and promoting content that links are needed for.
In recent weeks, industry analyst Penelope Cox told the CarbonCopyPRO live Las Vegas advertising event that online marketing need not be expensive and free tactics such as social media and blogging can be especially effective.
