Home Pages ‘Should Have Targeted Names’

Those looking to boost their SEO efforts over the coming year may start by carefully considering their home pages.

Home Pages 'Should Have Targeted Names' Many companies fail to use these to their full advantage, explains Simon Heseltine from Search Engine Watch.

In an advice piece for users of SEO services, the expert suggests optimising their home page by naming it in a specific way.

For example, it should not simply be called "home", as this tends not to have any relevance to a business's services.

"Your home page should be targeted to the primary terms that you're trying to rank for," the commentator explains.

If the company is an estate agent the word "home" may well be ideal, but plumbing firms could consider a more appropriate option that targets the services on offer.

Another way to maximise efforts could be to rapidly upload content once it has been created, as the Econsultancy website recently suggested this should glean the most effective SEO results.
