Google has published a list of what the top search terms in the UK have been this year.
The World Cup, Justin Bieber and the iPad were among the fastest-rising searches of 2010, while Facebook and the BBC were top of the most-searched sites.
Companies using SEO services to promote deals were informed the top bargain-hunting terms of the year included cheap flights, holidays, train tickets and car insurance.
Many people also used the search engine to track down tickets to various events, with Take That the most-sought after live act, ahead of the likes of Michael Buble and Lady Gaga.
Meanwhile, the retail websites of Argos, Tesco and Next were also popular among Google searchers.
Earlier this month, Richard Dodd, head of media and campaigns at the British Retail Consortium, explained more consumers are turning to the internet for their shopping, with DVDs and books being particularly popular products.
