Google has revealed that its blog entry regarding the launch of the Chrome open source operating system was the most popular of 2009 by a long way.
Writing in the last post of the year on the official blog, editors Emily Wood and Jordan Newman explained that the article saw more than 2.5 million unique page views.
This is about 12 per cent of all visits to the site during 2009 and more than four times as many as the second-placed post, which was written about Google Wave and recorded nearly 640,000 views, they noted.
"Thanks for sticking with us through all of our goings-on over the past 12 months. We look forward to having you back for more in 2010," said Ms Wood and Mr Newman.
Last month, Google hailed the impact of citizen reporting in Iran and the importance of people’s videos being uploaded unedited to the company’s video-sharing website YouTube.
