Google has revealed that this year has been its most popular for video searches on YouTube, with a diverse range of keywords proving the most popular each month.

Google Reveals Most Popular Year Ever For Video Searches Jamie Davidson, associate product manager, highlighted on the company’s official blog how the fastest-rising search terms each month ranged from political moments such as the inauguration of President Obama in January to the instant popularity of Susan Boyle in April.

According to statistics collated by Google, Boyle’s Britain’s Got Talent video was the most watched content on YouTube with more than 120 million views across the world.

Firms considering the delivery of their SEO services UK may be interested to see that the Scottish singer – who came second in the reality television show – ranked so highly on international search figures.

Mr Davidson said: "This year has been the biggest yet for online video and for the first time we’re sharing our official Most Watched lists and some of the fastest-rising search terms on YouTube."
