A number of Google’s SEO services are expected to be temporarily interrupted during an upgrade in the coming weeks.
The affected Google SEO services include Google Analytics – which allows webmasters to assess trends in their site traffic – and Website Optimizer, which allows different content to be tested to determine the most effective pages in terms of audience response.
Any existing users of the two services are told in posts on their official blogs that their current campaigns will continue to collect data during the period in which the upgrade is being performed.
No new filters and goals will be able to be created in Google Analytics during the upgrade, however, while on Website Optimizer experiments will not be able to be created, stopped or paused.
Google asserts that the upgrades come as part of an aim to improve scalability of the services, as well as to boost their reliability.
