Google Maintains Lead in comScore Rankings

Google is the most popular search engine in the US, according to the latest rankings from comScore.

Google Maintains Lead in comScore Rankings In news that may interest users of Google's pay per click services, the company was found to have a 65.6 per cent share of searches conducted in January.

Yahoo! sites followed, taking 16.1 per cent of the market, while Microsoft may be pleased with its 1.1 percentage point rise to take 13.1 per cent of the share.

December 2010's comScore results saw 66.6 per cent of searches being conducted on Google's pages and a total of more than 16.4 billion explicit core searches were carried out over the month as a whole.

In January, almost 17 billion of these queries were conducted, with 11.1 billion of them occurring on the market leader's site during the four-week period.

Ask Network took 576 million searches and AOL LLC Network received 296 million, the results revealed.
