Google has introduced a new tool to make it easier to analyse business websites.
It is in the process of beta testing In-Page Analytics, which superimposes Google Analytics data onto web pages as browsing is conducted.
Trevor Claiborne, a member of the Google Analytics Team, told users of SEO services that the application should make it easier to visualise how internet users navigate their way through websites.
A demo version of In-Page is currently available to all English language users of Google Analytics.
Mr Claiborne added that Google has ambitious plans for the service, with "more that we want to build going forward" following the trial period.
Last month, a new status dashboard was launched for Google Analytics, with users kept more up-to-date with any problems with the service.
It shows web reports, GData API and data collection as part of efforts by the search engine to increase transparency levels.
