Businesses working to improve their websites and make them as user-friendly as possible may want to consider introducing sitemaps.
This is because, according to the Google Webmaster Central Blog, they are an "invaluable resource for search engines" and could be essential for enterprises and their SEO services.
The organisation points out that sitemaps highlight any important information contained within a domain and allow crawlers to quickly latch on to it.
In particular, this could benefit firms with many pictures on their pages.
At the end of last month, Newswire advised that 85 per cent of internet commerce comes from listings that appear at the top of search engine results pages.
Introducing sitemaps may help to boost a company’s position in these results.
