Google has announced a new search ads function for its Images section.
It is part of a wider overhaul of Google Images, which is set to allow users to view up to 1,000 pictures on a single scrolling page, while keyboard navigation is being optimised to allow for faster searches.
Users of pay per click services were advised that the new ad feature will let them include a thumbnail image alongside any lines of text on each advert.
“These upgrades are rolling out in most of our local interfaces worldwide over the next few days,” the official Google blog explained.
It added that the search engine will be continuing to work on improving and evolving its Images service.
Earlier this month, a report by B2 Group revealed that 13.3 per cent of small and medium-sized enterprises are planning to increase their spending on pay per click services, according to Marketing Week.
