Online companies which employ landing pages as part of their SEO campaigns have been advised of how they can make use of Google Analytics.

Google Analytics 'Can Help Scrutinise Success of Landing Pages' Alden DeSoto from the Google Analytics team said that the pivot view button on the application can help users of SEO services to scrutinise how many visits they have received for each keyword/landing page combination.

It does this by setting up a table that lists landing pages across the top and keywords down the side.

“The pivot view is also really useful for seeing at a glance how many visits you get from each keyword and search engine combination,” the expert added.

Earlier this month, an article on the Yahoo! Search Marketing Blog advised that having a mixture of broad and specific keywords can often be the most effective SEO strategy.

It said that consumers often start out by searching for generic phrases before gradually narrowing down their searches to product names as they get closer to making a purchase.
