Google Analytics Brings In ‘Weighted Sort’ Algorithm

Google Analytics has launched a new algorithm called weighted sort.

Google Analytics Brings In 'Weighted Sort' Algorithm When working on a computed metric, the feature will allow users of SEO services to choose which rows of data to analyse first.

Linus Chou, a member of the Google Analytics team, explained: "For instance … weighted sort will weight the computed value bounce rate by the number of visits."

The algorithm also works on a variety of other metrics, such as goal conversion rates and the percentage of new visitors to a site.

Weighted sort is intended to make it easier for organisations to find out the information they are most interested in.

Earlier this month, the Google Analytics Management API was also launched, with the application designed to give users access to account configuration data in a faster and more powerful way.

It has five new data feeds, making it easier for companies to access information subsets in a more efficient manner.
