Companies that operate around the world must have a strong online presence, experts have insisted.

Global Brands 'Must Have An Online Presence' According to comScore, being visible on the internet is no longer optional and is now a marketing necessity for most global brands.

This, it said, is because consumers have embraced the internet to such an extent that it now presents lots of business opportunities.

Indeed, figures from comScore show that Google Sites has the largest audience share in the Asia Pacific area.

As a result, firms that use SEO services could potentially boost their visibility in front of a large consumer base and attract lots of extra custom.

Will Hodgman, executive vice president of comScore in the Asia Pacific region, said the average internet user in the area spends almost 17 hours a month online.

“Brands not currently using this channel are missing a significant opportunity to reach and engage audiences,” he commented.

This comes after PayPal predicted that the online retail sector in the UK could be worth more than £30 billion in the next two years.
