Fresh Content ‘Essential for SEO’

The most important thing firms must do if they want to improve their rankings is provide fresh and relevant content, one expert has stated.

Fresh Content 'Essential for SEO' David Hollands-Hurst, SEO consultant at Pixl8 Interactive, explained that if content is left unchanged, search engine spiders will consider it to be less relevant.

To solve this problem, he suggests reviewing some questions that customers have asked in the past and then creating an FAQ section or blog to answer them.

Alternatively, Mr Hollands-Hurst advised enlisting the help of professional SEO services, "to make sure there is no possibility of the search engines getting confused with how your site is structured".

He said that these website updates should be considered as an "own goal" for companies, especially if they have new products and services to promote.

These comments came after Search Engine Watch advised that imitating already-successful sites will not always ensure that a newer firm achieves the same results.
