It is important for businesses think carefully about the types of people they recruit if they want their SEO and pay per click campaigns to be successful, it has been claimed.
According to Kevin Gibbons, employers need to ensure that they have a well-balanced team of people around them so that they can perform strongly in all areas of marketing.
This is because those with long-term planning abilities are more likely to offer professional SEO services, while "analytical types" are better at pay per click.
Writing for Search Engine Watch, Mr Gibbons urges bosses to "dig deep" during the interview stages.
"Ask what projects they have most enjoyed working on to date, find out what they would recommend various websites focus on as an online strategy," he says.
To really get the most out of their online marketing campaigns, enterprises were recently advised by Andy Clayton, manager of two Printing.com stores in Newark and Lincoln, to adapt to changes in the industry.
He told Simply Business that Twitter is becoming more popular among marketers.
