Businesses are being given advice about how to utilise the internet and search engine optimisation (SEO) within their plans for expanding their client base.

Companies Given Advice for Utilising Online Opportunites Mick Dickinson, who runs a marketing support company for organisations in Bristol, stressed that keyword marketing and a plan for taking advantage of SEO services will help attract more potential customers.

Mr Dickinson told Guide 2 Bristol that while many will know the value of keywords and phrases, few will know what those words might be.

"Your prospects have their own favourite sites, blogs and communities. If your brand can be present where prospects already hang out, then you’ll be found," he commented.

This follows recent data from comScore which revealed that car manufacturers are benefitting from internet searches from as US audience.

Figures for March showed a 23 per cent increase in visitors to sites in the sector.

American government online content also benefitted from a notable increase in activity as it tried to pass healthcare legislation.
