Business leaders would be foolish to shrug off the importance of SEO campaigns, one expert has advised.
Writing for the online Search Engine Journal, search engine analyst Justin Stein has explained that, despite the proven benefits of the technique, relatively few organisations are currently taking advantage of SEO services.
Furthermore, some of those firms that are dabbling with SEO techniques are merely concentrating on boosting their own rankings on engines such as Google, thereby neglecting the equally-important task of enhancing a website so as to convert visitors into paying customers.
The good news, Mr Stein notes, is that the current situation can be exploited by companies looking to stay ahead of the crowd.
"[SEO services are] a very cost effective way to target your potential market while the majority of your competition isn’t taking advantage of this amazing technique," he concludes.
Earlier this month, the head of Google Eric Schmidt explained that his search engine's ranking algorithm is constantly being tweaked.
