Bing is set to extend its reach to internet users after Mozilla Firefox agreed to add it to its list of search engine choices on the Mac and PC.
Jon Tinter, general manager of Bing, told users of SEO services that they can expect to see the option appear in the upcoming Firefox 4.
He said that the search engine is "very excited" about what being on the new Firefox system will mean for it.
"Having Bing in the 'out of the box' list makes it easier than ever for the Firefox community to experience the benefits of Bing," Mr Tinter explained.
The new Firefox system will retain Google as the default search option, with Yahoo! as the secondary option.
Bing will be included as a general search option for English language users of Firefox 4, with the Mozilla Blog stating that its inclusion is down to the search engine's rise in popularity during the past 12 months.
