Bing has drawn attention to a new way in which IT professionals can augment a basic Bing query.

Bing Offers Advice on Augmenting Queries In news that may be of interest to firms using SEO marketing services, the Microsoft search engine noted on its Community blog that Advanced Query Language can also be used in either an API request or a Bing box.

This is in addition to the commonly used option of tailoring requests with the Bing API.

Giving an example, the brand stated that if users wanted to augment a query for ‘windows’ with results only coming from Microsoft.com, they would enter ‘windows site:Microsoft.com’.

To accompany this, Bing has also released a list of operators and syntactical units that the language comprises, it explained.

In related news, the company revealed last week that changes have been made to its shopping services so that users are now better able to find the most relevant results to them.
