Amazon and eBay are among the two biggest spenders on Google AdWords marketing, it has been claimed.
According to information obtained by Advertising Age, the company which invested the most money on Google's paid-for search results in June 2010 was AT&T Mobility with $8.08 million (£5.25 million).
Amazon spent $5.85 million on pay per click services, while eBay's marketing spend for the month on AdWords was $4.25 million.
BP also recorded a leap in spending as it tried to rebuild its image following the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, going from spending less than $60,000 a month in the two months previously to $3.59 million in June.
Earlier this week, Google announced it is launching an updated version of AdWords Editor, with the roll-out occurring over the course of the next few weeks.
The new service has been designed to support location extensions, which are part of Google's new strategy for local business ads.
