Companies that don't have the time to stay on top of keywords might find a new tool from Google is of use.

AdWords Opportunities Tab 'Identifies New Keyword Areas' Inside AdWords explains the Opportunities tab has been created for users of pay per click services that are struggling to fit in account optimisation.

It provides firms with automated and customised keyword, bid and budget ideas, allowing them to quickly come up with options and inspiration.

An example is given of an online dating website that used the service, with owner Chris Mattioli expressing his enthusiasm for the new Opportunities tab.

He said: "[It] can often find new keywords that are relevant our ads and that don't currently exist in our account.

"It also helps you identify new keyword areas, even when you thought you had it covered."

Mr Mattioli had accidentally overlooked keywords such as promotion code or coupon, which he went on to use for advertising purposes on his site.

Another recent alteration made by AdWords was to change the way headlines appear on search results pages, allowing Google to show more information about the business or services in the title.
