Businesses that run paid search campaigns which make use of Google Adwords commercials can expect to benefit from the "effective marketing tool".
Lorraine Twohill, vice president of global marketing for Google, told users of pay per click services that the offering is so effective, the search engine itself uses it for its own advertising efforts.
"Google uses AdWords for many of the same reasons that our advertisers do – it's a great way to reach users and raise awareness about a product or feature," she said.
Ms Twohill said such commercials are used for a variety of Google products, with the search engine's advertising subject to the same rules as other businesses.
AdWords is currently inviting companies which use its services to play a part in its tenth anniversary celebrations.
It has asked users to create short YouTube videos explaining how the service has helped their company, with the results set to be featured on a global map that will be published by Google in December.
