Held on 13th November 2012 at the Emirates Stadium, London, Econsultancy FUNNEL 2012 brings together like minded senior B2B marketers interested in aligning marketing and sales teams to drive new business and increase revenue. We were attending for the second year running and with many tracks and sessions from industry pioneering speakers, unfortunately it wasn’t possible to attend every talk, however here are some key takeaways from the sessions I attended for those that were unable to make them!
I had the great pleasure of visiting the ionSearch conference today, hosted in the wonderful city of Leeds. This two day conference showcases the very best in search from around the globe, and I decided to share some of the great tips I’ve learned so far.

It’s tough to get links from high profile websites such as the Guardian and TIME and only the strongest pitches and most effective outreach will get results. To do this it’s vital you understand the way people you are contacting work, alongside the needs they have, and all the hundreds of others things they have to get done.
You can do this with psychology, and in this presentation we reveal the same psychological techniques we used to get coverage in the BBC, Daily Mail, CBS, TIME and many more. Best of all we show you how to do this too.
Well, I have had a great couple of days at Advanced SMX London. I watched some insightful and some not so insightful presentations and met some brilliant like-minded people who I am looking forward to catching up with again at future conferences.
Anyway, moving onto some of the takeaways from each of the presentations…. Advanced SMX is a panel led conference with typically 3-4 speakers on each panel. I tried to make notes for each one but apologies if I have missed some as it’s not always easy to take everything down and take key bits in at the same time.
